     The city of Třeboň is the largest city in the Třeboň region, located in the heart of the Třeboň basin in southern Bohemia. In the 16th and early 17th centuries, especially during the reign of the last Rožmberks (brothers Vilém and Petr Vok), Třeboň reached its greatest prosperity. In the 19th century, peat baths were created in Třebon. There are two spas in the city: Bertina Spa and Aurora Spa.
     The center of the city conservation area is Masaryk Square, which is surrounded by town houses with Renaissance and Baroque gables. Three main roads lead to the very center of Třeboň, flanked by massive gates. Budějovická brána, Hradecká brána, Svinenská brána. The most important building is the old town hall with a 31 meter high tower. Třeboň Castle ranks among the largest castle complexes in the Czech Republic.
     Třeboň is home to Rybářství Třeboň, which is the largest fishery in Europe. There are almost five hundred ponds in the vicinity of Třeona. The largest pond is Rožmberk.

     The Czech Republic was established on January 1, 1993 by the division of Czechoslovakia. The official name of the state according to the constitution is the Czech Republic.
