Webcam view of the northern slope of Mount Etna. Geographically, the largest volcano in Europe - Etna is among the most active volcanoes in the world. With its activity, it threatens the inhabitants of Catania, who live on its slopes on the eastern coast of the island of Sicily.
You can reach the crater of the volcano from the Rifugio Sapienza parking lot (1,910 m above sea level) on foot or by cable car, which will take you to a height of 2,500 m above sea level. You can then continue from Torre del Filosofo (2,920 m above sea level). From here you can only get to the top of Etna with a mountain guide. In winter, you can use two ski resorts on the slopes of Mount Etna - Nicolosi and Linguaglossa.
