Puerto del Rosario is the capital of the island of Fuerteventura, which is located in the Canary Islands in Spain. Originally, the town was called Puerto de Cabras, meaning "Port of the Goats", due to the large number of wild goats that inhabited the surrounding area. It was later renamed Puerto del Rosario in honor of King Ferdinand III.
One of the main symbols of the city is the Casa-Museo Unamuno, a museum dedicated to the important Spanish writer and intellectual, Miguel de Unamuno. The museum is located in the house where Unamuno stayed during his exile in Fuerteventura and offers visitors the opportunity to learn about his life and work.
Fuerteventura is a unique island that offers beautiful nature, breathtaking beaches. The island is surrounded by endless sand dunes and breathtaking coastal cliffs. Beaches such as Sotavento, Corralejo and Cofete are known for their fine white sands and the clear, warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
